Today we welcomed guests from Norway, Finland, Sweden, from the former Nordic Institute for Community Planning (Nordplan). This organisation, founded in Stockholm in 1968, was tasked with training researchers and conducting research in the field of community planning in the Nordic countries.
From 1974 onwards, the Institute was financed from the Nordic Council of Ministers’ cultural budget. In 1981, Nordplan ceased to be a Swedish government organisation and became a Nordic cultural centre. In 1986, Nordplan ceased to exist, and in 1997 Nordregio was founded, taking over some of Nordplan’s key functions.
The guests, former Nordplan employees, were welcomed by Director Stefan Eriksson and Daina Mežecka, Advisor on Social Welfare and Civil Society.
